Assessment
We provide neurodiversity-affirming assessments to help you understand yourself (or your child) more fully: your strengths, challenges, and support needs.
What we assess
Whether you’re seeking answers for long-standing challenges, exploring neurodivergence, or need documentation for school, work, or NDIS funding, we’re here to guide you.
What we assess:
- ADHD
- Autism
- Intellectual function (IQ)
- Complex psychological profiles and their intersection with neurotype (“Is this BPD or cPTSD or ADHD or all of the above? Please help!”)
- Eating challenges (e.g., ARFID, bulimia)
- Learning Differences (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia)
- Neurological conditions (the cognitive impacts of dementia, epilepsy, long-COVID, and others)
We assess what’s relevant to understanding your full picture, so you don’t need to guess which conditions to ask about. Many people have complex combinations and presentations that don’t fit neatly into one category.

Why get an assessment?
- Clarity about your strengths and how your brain works
- Your cognitive and neurodevelopmental profile
- Explanations for patterns in learning, work, or relationships
- Guidance for therapy, workplace, or educational support
- Support for NDIS applications
- Language to understand and communicate your identity
We take a strengths-based approach, recognising neurodivergence as a natural variation in how people think and experience the world.
FAQs
Why get assessed?
An assessment gives you clearer self-understanding. It can validate your experiences, open doors to support and funding, help you communicate your needs, and guide decisions about therapy, work, or education.
Who is an assessment for?
Anyone seeking to understand themselves better. We assess children, adolescents, and adults. Some come for formal documentation, others for clarity. All reasons are valid.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly without a GP or specialist referral. Can assessments be done via telehealth? Yes, many parts can be completed online. We’ll discuss what works best during the initial consultation.
How long does it take?
Typically 4-6 weeks from start to finish, including interviews, testing, report writing, and feedback.
Will I get a clear answer?
Yes. You will receive a comprehensive assessment that describes your cognitive and psychological traits and explains why you experience the world the way you do. Whether or not a diagnostic label applies, you’ll leave with clear explanations, evidence-based reasoning, and a concrete path forward.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. We won’t share your results without your written consent.
Can I bring a support person?
Absolutely. For children and young people, a parent or carer will usually be involved throughout.
Can this help with NDIS access?
Yes. Our reports meet NDIS requirements and can support access requests or plan reviews.
What's the difference between psychological and neurodivergence assessments?
Neurodivergence assessments focus on autism, ADHD, and related profiles. Psychological assessments explore broader mental health concerns. Sometimes these overlap, and we’ll help you work out what makes sense.
