Refer to Mindkit
Mindkit is a neurodivergent-led psychology practice for children, adults, couples, and families, working across Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and learning differences. Based in Brunswick, available Australia-wide by telehealth.
As an entirely neurodivergent clinical team, we understand
neurodivergence from
the inside.
We currently have capacity for identification, therapy, and
coaching, and we offer
appointments after hours and on weekends.
What we offer
- Identification of Autism and ADHD for children and adults.
- Neuropsychological assessment for questions of intellectual disability, learning differences such as dyslexia and dyscalculia, memory, and acquired brain injury.
- Therapy built around the individual and adapted for the neurodivergent community, drawing on modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, schema therapy, parts work, and somatic therapies.
- Couples therapy, for any relationship structure our clients bring to us, including polyamorous partnerships.
- Family therapy, for parents, siblings, and the wider family working out how to support a neurodivergent household.
- ADHD coaching with coaches credentialed through the International Coaching Federation.
- Therapy assistance and support work for putting therapy into practice day to day.
- Support for co-occurring difficulties, including complex trauma, disordered eating, self-harm, and substance use, none of which are a barrier to working with us.
- We work with clients from age 10.
NDIS: Our reports are grounded in current, working knowledge of the scheme, with functional capacity evidence that meets the standard the NDIA expects. Where a client needs it, we can also provide NDIS advocacy.
Medication pathway: Where a client needs medication, we have an established pathway to a psychiatrist who works alongside the practice. We complete the assessment, the psychiatrist prescribes, and the client stays supported throughout.
What makes us different
We assess the whole person. Our assessments look beyond the core criteria to the things that shape a neurodivergent life and are often missed: camouflaging, monotropism, demand avoidance, alexithymia, interoception, burnout, and the way gender and sexuality intersect with neurotype.
We combine therapy and coaching. Our clinicians offer both, so the practical side of executive functioning is worked on with tools and strategies alongside the emotional work, in one place.
We understand physical disability. Many neurodivergent people live with co-occurring conditions such as hypermobility, dysautonomia, and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. We help with the emotional impact of these, and the practical side of daily life, including pacing, problem-solving, and advocacy.
We treat relationship problems as neurodivergent problems too. What looks like resentment or shutdown between partners, or friction between a parent and child, is often a mismatch in communication style, sensory need, or executive load. We work with couples of any structure, including polyamorous partnerships, and with families, from that starting point.
Who to refer
Clients seeking identification of Autism or ADHD, whether or not they hold a formal diagnosis. We are well suited to clients whose profiles are complex, where Autism or ADHD overlaps with trauma, mental health, or a previous diagnosis that has not accounted for the full clinical picture.
Couples, in any relationship structure including polyamorous partnerships, wanting support to work with neurodivergence rather than around it. Families and parents wanting help to understand and respond to a neurodivergent child, teenager, or family member.
Refer a client
No referral is required, though GP referrals and Mental Health Care Plans are welcomed. Clients can also book an initial consultation to discuss whether assessment is the right step.
